MVP Fission Octane
FLIGHT NUMBERS: 13 | 5 | -1.5 | 2
The Octane is a high speed stable-understable distance driver
Product description
Fission™ technology has come to the Octane! Combining the raw speed and distance potential of the Octane with our cutting edge Fission™ plastic has resulted in a truly impressive max distance driver. In testing at MVP R&D, the Fission™ Octane presented with a touch more turn than in other plastics – helping it be perhaps the farthest flying Octane yet. With final flight numbers of 13 | 5 | -1.5 | 2, the Fission™ Octane is going to take your distance to the next level. Plus, thanks to its ultralight core, the Fission™ Octane is available in weights all the way down to 155g — making it an Octane for all arm speeds! See just where your distance potential is at with the Fission™ Octane!
Octane falls in the general stability lineage of Switch, Amp, Inertia, and Wave, with a slow-turning profile that holds long and straight until its fade finish. The 23mm Octane is designed to be relatively less understable than its 21.5mm counterpart Wave. Average throwers should see straight flights with a bit of shallow turn, while power throwers will be able to hyzerflip for max distance and tailwind lines.
The Octane has a very demanding high speed requirement and rim width, but if fully powered its dome will provide excellent glide and cover massive distance.
Power throwers will be able to hyzerflip the Octane for max distance, while average throwers may only see a shallow turn from the Octane. This power responsive nature allows the Octane to be used in a variety of lines and situations by adjusting power and release angles. With its high speed requirement and stable-understable nature at full speed, many average power players may find the Octane to be a suitable max distance stable-overstable driver
Fission Plastic description:
Fission™ Microbubble Technology produces an ultralight core with evenly distributed and imperceptible weight reduction microbubbles. The ultralight core allows an even higher GYRO® overmold density relative to the core, yet still remaining in the lighter weight classes — 135g to 175g in the Photon.
This produces an entirely new type of lightweight disc never before seen in the sport, and beyond the capability of any other manufacturer. Weight distribution, stability, and durability of prior “bubble” discs are all improved upon by Fission. Skeptics of prior light or bubble plastics are in for a surprise, as Fission brings advanced disc physics and true high-tech molding into the lightweight plastics arena.
* Ultra-lightweight core for added GYRO®
* Imperceptible micro-bubbles
* Improved durability over competition
* Light throwing weight with substantial feel
